I’m not sure who my favorite character is, but I do apprieciate the way Monae seems to try and make the best of what she has.
As far as I am concerned there are really only two characters in the book – Gus and Monae. Most of the book revolves around them and you get to know them the best. If I had to pick between those two it would probably be Monae first then Gus. I feel she is trying harder in life and is patient with Gus. Gus is always running away from problems. There really aren’t any characters that I don’t like.
I like Mona’s and I identify with her most. She loves to grow her own food!
