Public WiFi is available both inside and outside in the parking lot of the Library building 24/7. This is not a password-protected network and access is granted after pressing the green “Continue to the Internet” button on the network authorization webpage. 

Enjoy free Internet access with your portable, wireless-enabled devices such as laptops, tablets, phones, and other wireless devices at the Brandon Township Public Library.
Wireless networks are less secure than other forms of data transmission because wireless data is sent through the air. The BTPL network is an open network and is not secure. 

The best way to be secure as possible on a wireless network is to not transmit information of a personal nature, such as social security numbers, bank account numbers, etc. Always assume that others may view any information you share or transmit. We strongly recommend that you have Antivirus and personal firewall software, and make sure it is updated. Most WiFi equipment will be compatible, however, the Brandon Township Public Library can make no guarantee of the compatibility of your equipment with the library’s network. The library cannot guarantee you will be able to make a wireless connection.

Please note: Brandon Township Public Library staff cannot assist with your computer, wireless network card, or configuration. They cannot perform any troubleshooting on your computer. You are responsible for knowing how to configure your own equipment. If you need assistance, refer to the manufacturer’s documentation or contact them directly. The library staff cannot accept the liability of handling your equipment. Brandon Township Public Library assumes no responsibility for any loss or damages done directly or indirectly to personal data or equipment, or for any damage or injury arising from loss of privacy arising from the use of its World Wide Web server, wireless connection, or connection to other Internet services. Library staff is not responsible for any changes you make to your computer’s settings. Wireless users must comply with the Brandon Township Public Library WiFi Policy. Users are expected to use the library’s wireless access in a legal and responsible manner. Misuse will result in the loss of library access and privileges.
