The Brandon Township Public Library has IBM Lenovo R60c laptops available for in-house circulation to patrons in good standing with the library. Laptops have Microsoft software and web browsers. They are loaned out at, and returned to, the Adult Services Desk.
Laptops are available to patrons aged 18 and over who possess a valid Michigan ID or driver’s license and a valid library card, which the library shall keep for the duration of the loan.
Laptops may be checked out for a maximum of four hours. Users will sign a form accepting financial responsibility for any damages to, or loss of, the computer while it is in their possession. Power cords will be given out with the laptop. The battery life on all laptops is one hour.
Laptops may only be used in areas of the Adult library, including the Quiet Study Room and Local History Room.
Laptop use is free of charge. Users may check out only one laptop at a time.
Documents may be printed from the laptop to the public printer in the Adult area. All library printing fees apply.
Users may not permanently save documents to the hard drive, but may use a flash drive or CD to save documents. When the laptop is returned, all personal data will be deleted. All work must be saved before returning the laptop to the Adult Services Desk. Flash drives and CDs may be purchased at the Circulation Desk.
